Artificial Intelligence
A term used to describe the ability of a computer or computer-controlled machine to perform actions customarily attributed to intelligent beings. Artificial intelligence is used to develop systems characterized by processes that have the characteristics of intelligence, such as reason-giving, sense discovery, generalization, or learning from previous experience.
Despite the exponential development of computing techniques since 1940, defined as the date of the invention of the computer, machines are still unable to catch up with humans in terms of the capabilities offered by intelligence. On the other hand, the conducting of some processes has already been perfected in such a form that humans will never be able to surpass the computer.
Intelligence is defined not as following rules (instinct) but as the ability to adapt to variables from the environment. It is also the ability to learn, discover causes or solve problems. These terms will refer to mechanisms typical of artificial intelligence.
