Cloud services
From TerGoPedia
Cloud services include infrastructure, platforms, and software provided by external entities that users can only use over the Internet.
There are several types of cloud services:
- Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) – providing computing, networking, and data storage services
- Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) – providing users with an application (program) in the cloud as well as the platform on which it operates
- Platforms-as-a-Service (PaaS) – providing only the platform on which the software operates and the IT facilities necessary for its functioning
- Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) – a model based on the demand for a specific service. It allows developers to create, run and manage software packages without having to maintain the entire infrastructure.
